AIST was founded on June 18, 2025, by U.S. Navy Veteran, and Former OSHA Compliance, Safety, and Health Officer, Shane Alexander. AIST was founded on the principle that all businesses should have affordable safety, health, and environmental consultation and affordable and adequate representation during OSHA enforcement inspections.
Mr. Alexander worked in federal service for the U.S. Department of Labor - OSHA from 2021 to 2025 as a Compliance Safety and Health Officer, Drone Program Manager, and Drone Pilot. Mr. Alexander worked as a Safety Officer and Part 107 UAS Pilot in the Wichita Area OSHA Office conducting OSHA enforcement activities, enforcement inspections, and drone deployments in General Industry, Construction, and Agriculture. Mr. Alexander also conducted OSHA workplace fatality investigations. Mr. Alexander conducted over 100 OSHA inspections from 2021 to 2025.
Prior to OSHA, Mr. Alexander worked for the Park City (Kansas) Police Department from 2017 to 2021. Mr. Alexander worked in Code Compliance, Patrol, Investigations, and as a Part 107 UAS Pilot. In 2021, Mr. Alexander was medically retired due to a training injury.
Mr. Alexander served on Active Duty in the U.S. Navy from 2007 - 2012 as a military police officer and security forces member where he conducted military law enforcement, maritime security, physical security, surveillance detection, and anti-terrorism force protection operations and assignments for U.S. Navy military installations and satellite receiver sites in Virginia and in Europe. Mr. Alexander served on the USS Normandy, CG-60, a guided missile cruiser, during his first year in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Alexander holds 3 bachelor's degrees in the areas of Justice Studies, Homeland Security, and Occupational Safety and a master's degree in Security Science and Security Management.
Mr. Alexander is married and resides in Wichita, KS. He and his wife have 3 children together, along with 2 dogs, and 5 chickens.
